| Non-stop action might be one way to describe last Thursday’s fund-raiser for the United Negro College Fund and BCU. ISC President Lesa France Kennedy and Daytona Beach Mayor Glenn Ritchey were co-hosts of the event, the proceeds from which will be used to provide scholarships to deserving low-income students. Harry Burney came from New York to serve as the emcee. On the judges panel were Daytona Beach City Commissioner Cassandra Reynolds, Alvin Wyatt, Connie Ritchey, Jeffrey Swendsen, Betty Jane France, Michelle Carter-Scott and her husband, Edgar Scott, and County Councilwoman Joie Alexander. The competing couples were Kelly and Jack White, Bobbi and Bob Coleman, Muriel Green and Frank Leister, Barbara and Bob Paranzino, Molly and Tim Hudson, Sonja and Harold Lucas, Bruce Kuehn and Teresa Bird. The Colemans, who did a swing dance routine were the winners of the dance contest. |
